FROM PRINCIPAL'S DESK - NLK's WENDY SCHOOL
Children are not things to be moulded but people to be unfolded.
NLK's Wendy School is on mission to identify, develop and promote the innate qualities of its students who will become useful citizens for the society and country. It gives me immense pleasure and privilege to facilitate the role of the Principal at NLK's Wendy School and be a part of the journey that provides enriching education. Over the years, as an educator myself, I have realized that if the enormous potential, creating things. boundless energy, infectious enthusiasm of a child is spotted and nourished, it can help unleash a child's latent potential to the fullest.
In this highly competitive world, we need to remember that every child is different with their unique interests. We always encourage our students to move beyond the confines of convention.
The motto of NLK Group of Schools is 'to teach a child how to think, not what to think. Curiosity is one of our core values and our effective, innovative and challenging curriculum encourages curious minds to unravel the joys of learning and become great explorers of knowledge.
We provide education that goes beyond Academics and Curriculum. Classroom teaching provides the foundation, and co-curricular or extracurricular activities provide practical exposure and opportunities to implement what students learn in the classroom.
Our qualified staff plays a pivotal role in shaping the character, caliber and future of a child. They prioritise social skills, free- play, develop verbal ability and imbibe the skills and joy of creating things.
At NLK's Wendy School, the personality of our students is chiselled and shaped while the priceless attributes of good values, ideals, knowledge, principles and responsibilities are inculcated in the minds of these naive children. And it is in this pursuit of excellence that our school brings out the innate talents of its pupils. After all, we want these pure gems to shine; these blooming flowers to spread their fragrance far and wide.
However, at the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the tri-polar bonding - between the school, the students and the parents.
Through a shared collaborative effort between the school and parents, we can encourage our children to pursue their passion, follow their dreams and craft their destinies.

A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES
WE DANCE AS ONE
Students of NLK Wendy School recently performed a electrifying dance show, The World is One Family. Our goal was to showcase that despite our differences, we can come together in harmony. By fusing Brazilian, ballet, hip-hop, and Bharatnatyam styles, we learned valuable lessons in energy, grace, swag, and tradition. After intense practice, we took the stage, pouring our hearts into the performance. Our dance told the story of people from diverse backgrounds uniting and celebrating their unique qualities. The audience's enthusiasm was palpable, and we felt their energy fuel our passion. Through dance, we demonstrated that together, we're stronger. Our performance was a testament to the power of unity and diversity. We hope it inspires others to embrace their differences and come together as one, just like we did.
ONE WORLD, MANY CULTURES
As a teacher at NLK Wendy School, I couldn't be prouder of our students for organizing a vibrant cultural exhibition that celebrated the diversity of four incredible countries: Japan, UAE, America, and India. They worked tirelessly to display traditional clothes, music, art, and food from each country, giving visitors a true taste of global culture. The iconic landmarks like the Egyptian Pyramids and the Taj Mahal were a highlight, and the traditional dances like Kabuki and Bharatnatyam left everyone in awe. What touched my heart was seeing our students learn from each other, embracing different cultures, and celebrating our unique bond. Our goal was simple: to highlight the beauty of diversity and the strength of unity. And I believe we achieved just that. Parents attended the exhibition and were impressed by the creativity and hard work of the students. They were proud to witness a celebration of different cultures. The exhibition was a huge success, and visitors appreciated the richness of different cultures.
BRUSHING BORDERS
The interhouse drawing competition was a colourful celebration of art from around the world. Students showcased five different styles: Pop Art and Conceptual Art from the USA, Madhubani and Warli from India, Sumi-e from Japan, and Papyrus from Egypt. Each style was unique and beautiful in its own way. Pop Art was bold and graphic, while Conceptual Art made us think. Madhubani was intricate and vibrant, Warli was simple yet powerful, Sumi-e was serene and elegant, and Papyrus was ancient and intricate. The students did a great job of bringing these styles to life, and we saw some amazing artwork!
UNITY IN COMBAT
The school hall was abuzz with excitement as we gathered to witness the martial art forms from around the world. The students showcased five martial art forms from around the world, demonstrating their skills and knowledge. They began with Kata from Japan, which highlighted the importance of precision and storytelling in movement. Next, we saw Karate, another Japanese martial art, which builds physical and mental strength through rigorous training and technique, emphasizing self-discipline and personal growth. Aikido, with its emphasis on harmonizing with one's opponent, showed us the value of peaceful conflict resolution. Kalaripayattu, from Kerala, dazzled us with its vibrant blend of strikes and techniques rooted in ancient Indian traditions. Finally, Tahtib, an Egyptian martial art, demonstrated the discipline and focus that can be achieved through its unique blend of combat and rhythmic dance. As we explored these diverse martial arts, it became clear that despite their distinct histories, philosophies, and techniques, they all share a common thread - discipline, respect, and self-control. I am proud of our students for embracing this spirit of unity and mutual respect.
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLOURS
In a kaleidoscope of colours and creativity, an Interhouse Rangoli Competition brought to life the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, celebrating the unity and diversity of cultures from around the world. The four participating houses showcased their artistic skills by designing intricate rangoli patterns incorporating their respective country's logos and flags. After a tough competition, Yamuna House emerged victorious, taking home the first prize with their stunning representation of India's rich cultural heritage. Brahmaputra House secured the second position with their impressive Egyptian-inspired design, while Narmada House and Ganga House took home the third prize with their creative interpretation of American and Japanese culture, respectively. Notably, despite the differences in flags and logos, the rangoli designs shared a common thread illustrating that beneath our differences, our essence remains the same.
CELEBRATING FAMOUS PERSONALITIES
In a unique and engaging enactment, students from Grade 1 to 4 portrayed famous personalities from around the world, including Aishwarya Rai, Albert Einstein, APJ Abdul Kalam, Nelson Mandela, Tom Cruise, Barack Obama, Margaret Thatcher, Madonna, William Shakespeare, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Through their impressive performances, the students showcased the achievements and contributions of these iconic figures who achieved greatness through hard work, resilience, and a passion for their pursuits. They also shared common traits, such as determination, creativity, and a willingness to take risks. The students did a great job and learned about people who made a difference in the world. This event reminded us that by embracing our own unique qualities and strengths, just like the famous personalities, we can strive for greatness and make a positive impact on the world.
SAY HELLO TO THE WORLD
With bright smiles and open arms, , students from different grades welcomed each other with authentic salutations from around the world - from India's reverent ‘Namaste’ to China's friendly ‘ Ni hao ma,’ France's charming ‘Bonjour,’ Japan's respectful ‘Konnichiwa,’ Spain's warm ‘Hola,’ the UK and USA's cheerful ‘Hello,’ and Thailand's gracious ‘Swasdi.’ As they embraced each other's greetings, they discovered that a simple ‘hello’ can bridge cultures , fostering a sense of belonging and unity world wide.
ONCE UPON A TIME……
‘The power of storytelling lies in its ability to captivate hearts and minds.’
Our preschoolers took the stage to show the magic of storytelling. They enacted folktales from around the world to life and shared stories about festivals in India. Through their lively performances, our young storytellers shared how different and unique cultures are, but also how much we all have in common. With their bright costumes and exciting stories, they reminded us that, no matter where we come from, we are all connected. This event was a wonderful example of how storytelling can bring us together, help us understand each other, and celebrate our differences. We are so proud of our preschoolers, teachers, and parents for making this event a big success.
THE POWER OF PRAYER BRINGS US CLOSER TOGETHER
In a heartwarming assembly, our preschoolers learned about different prayers from around the world, that included Hindu shloka, Muslim duas, Sikh Ardas, and Christian hymns. They discovered that even though we pray differently, we all share a common message of love, peace, and kindness. This special assembly taught them that we are all part of one big family, and that our differences make us special. By learning about each other's prayers, they learned to respect and appreciate our unique traditions.
Under the stewardship of our able teachers, we conducted a variety of role plays where our ‘Preschoolers’ and students from Grade 1 to 5 enacted as community helpers. They portrayed how community workers play an important role in our society.
In the month of October “KNOW YOUR COUNTRY” activity was done in which students showcased the food, traditional dresses, different personalities and dance forms of different states of India.
